Detailed itinerary

Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by the hustle and bustle of Nepal’s capital city. You'll transfer to your hotel, where you can relax and acclimate to the new environment. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Kathmandu's vibrant streets, visit local markets, or perhaps see some of the city's famous landmarks, such as Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) or Durbar Square. In the evening, you might have a pre-trek briefing with your guide and enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll take a scenic flight to Pokhara, which is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and serene atmosphere. From Pokhara, you'll drive to the trailhead at Nayapul and then begin your trek to Ghandruk. The journey takes you through lush forests and charming villages, offering stunning views of the Annapurna range. Ghandruk is a picturesque Gurung village with beautiful views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fishtail). Here, you’ll experience the local culture and hospitality.

Today’s trek involves descending to the Modi Khola River and then ascending to the village of Chhomrong. The path passes through terraced fields and dense forests, with occasional glimpses of the surrounding mountains. Chhomrong, situated at the base of the Annapurna Massif, provides excellent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. It’s a small village with a cozy atmosphere, where you can rest and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.

The trail from Chhomrong to Dovan descends steeply before crossing the Chhomrong Khola and then climbs gradually through bamboo and oak forests. This day’s trek takes you through a series of small villages and lush vegetation. Dovan is a small settlement nestled along the Modi Khola River, providing a tranquil setting as you continue your journey towards higher altitudes.

From Dovan, the trail ascends through dense forest and along the river. The trek gradually becomes more challenging as you gain altitude and approach the higher reaches of the Annapurna Sanctuary. Deurali, situated at the edge of the forest line, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a more open landscape. It is also the last major settlement before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp.

Today is the highlight of the trek as you make your way to Annapurna Base Camp. The trek involves crossing rocky terrain and navigating through a wide glacial valley. As you ascend, the views become more dramatic, showcasing towering peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Machapuchare. Annapurna Base Camp itself offers a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. You’ll spend time soaking in the majestic scenery and experiencing the high-altitude environment.

After a rewarding visit to Annapurna Base Camp, you’ll begin your descent. The trek back to Bamboo retraces your steps, with a focus on descending through the same beautiful landscapes you traversed on the way up. The descent allows for a different perspective on the scenery, and you’ll have the chance to appreciate the lush greenery and river valleys.

Today's trek takes you to Jhinu Danda, a village known for its natural hot springs. After descending from Bamboo, you’ll continue through picturesque villages and terraced fields. Jhinu Danda offers a relaxing opportunity to soak in the hot springs, providing a soothing experience after several days of trekking. The hot springs are a perfect way to rejuvenate your tired muscles.

From Jhinu Danda, you’ll trek to Naya Pul, where you’ll complete the trekking portion of your journey. From Naya Pul, you’ll drive back to Pokhara. The drive offers a scenic view of the countryside and provides a contrast to the mountainous terrain you’ve been navigating. In Pokhara, you can unwind and enjoy the lakeside city, perhaps indulging in some leisure activities or sightseeing.

You have the option to either drive or fly back to Kathmandu. The drive takes around seven hours and offers a scenic journey through Nepal’s diverse landscapes. If you prefer a quicker return, you can opt for a domestic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu (with an additional cost). In Kathmandu, you can spend your evening shopping, exploring, or enjoying a final meal in the vibrant city.

On your departure day, you'll transfer to the airport for your flight home. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have some time to do last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu. This is the end of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek adventure, with memories of the stunning landscapes and cultural experiences you’ve encountered along the way.
