Your Bhutanese guide will warmly welcome you and drive you through the picturesque Paro Valley to your hotel, located on a serene, pine-scented hillside. After refreshing, take a leisurely stroll around the charming town of Paro. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Today, embark on a scenic drive to the ruins of Drugyel Dzong, 18 kilometers up the Paro Valley. Built in 1647 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel to celebrate his victory over Tibetan invaders, this historic site offers stunning views. On clear days, you can see the majestic 7,314-meter peak of sacred Mt. Chomolhari, known as the Mountain of the Goddess. Next, visit the Taa Dzong, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower. The museum boasts an impressive collection of ancient Thangka paintings, textiles, weapons, and other artifacts. View the magnificent Punakha Dzong from outside, strategically set at the confluence of the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). This Dzong, now the winter residence of the central monk body’s chief abbot, is rich in history and culture. From Punakha, rejoin the east-west highway at Lobeysa and continue eastwards to your lodge. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

Drive back to Thimphu.
